Abstract: 

Objective: The present study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of BEHAVIOR THERAPY (BT) and COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOR THERAPY (CBT) on amelioration of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The effectiveness was studied during the time and within the basic settings in which the core symptoms are manifested. Method: 8 subjects from two special education settings were selected. Multiple baseline design across subjects was utilized. Baseline data were collected through frequent observation of BEHAVIORs for each subject. In intervention phase, 4 subjects assigned to BT, and 4 others to CBT programs. BEHAVIORs of subjects were also observed in follow-up phase. Results: The Results obtained from analysis of data points in experimental phases indicated a significant amelioration in symptoms of off-task BEHAVIORs. The effects were observed for 3 subjects of BT and 4 subjects of CBT in intervention phase. However, maintenance of effects was not observed in follow-up phase. Conclusion: The findings have implications to study long-term effectiveness of BT and CBT in treatment for the ADHD core clinical symptoms, and generalization of data from school-based setting to home environment.

Abstract: 

Background & Aims: This research was carried out to compare the effectiveness of COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY and dialectic BEHAVIOR THERAPY and on depression.Materials & Methods: This study was carried out on 27 participants who were selected according to acquiring 1 score more than standard deviation above the mean in depression inventories and were set into three clusters including COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOR THERAPY, dialectic BEHAVIOR THERAPY and control. Next, based on an experimental method, pre and post tests with the control cluster, the former and latter clusters were trained in between the one and half an hour of eight sessions while the control group received no therapeutic training. Beck Depression scale and covariance were used to assess and analyze the data.Results: Albeit both therapeutic clusters did not have significant differences in depression, they have had significant therapeutic differences in successfully intervening against the symptoms compared to the control cluster.Conclusion: Thus, it could be inferred that the dialectic BEHAVIORal THERAPY and COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY may be considered a practical therapeutic technique to improve and decrease depression.

Abstract: 

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a chronic, neurotic and disabled making disorder that has considered by psychologists and psychiatrists long time ago. In case that it is not treated on tinie, it becomes chronic and lasts long. In serious cases, the family and social relationships of the person results in disorders. The clients of OCD show the symptoms of anxiety and/ or depression as well. Hence, separatin OCD from basic depression and encompassing anxiety, and to find out relevant theraputical solutions has a particular importance. The most importatnt symptoms in recognizing this disease are as follews: obsessive reflections, impulses, disturbing mental images, repetitive BEHAVIORs of mental images that are used for preventing inconvenience or reducing it . In this research, the subjects of OCD are treated through cognitivve - BEHAVIOR THERAPY, and COGNITIVE - BEHAVIOR therappy with medicine THERAPY. The findings show that the perivious method is more efficient than the latter.

Abstract: 

Attention Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common disorder. Reports on the incidence of ADHD is about 2 to 20 percent of elementary school children. Affected children suffer minimal – but problematic - brain damages in parts of CNS relating attention, concentration and motor BEHAVIORs. Inability to organizing BEHAVIOR – as their principal deficit - causes numerous problems at home, school and in relationship with peers. ADHD has significant adverse effects on economic areas, occupational areas and personality formation of patient and on the society as well. A combination of pharmacotherapeutic and psychotherapeutic interventions are essential for treatment. COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY including psychoeducation of parents and teachers make an important part of THERAPY.Communicating proper knowledge about the disease and the COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR methods for supporting affected children has significant effect in promoting global functioning. Considering previous studies and cross cultural issues, a comprehensive therapeutic program is represented and discussed.
